Professor Matthias Koepp

Matthias Johannes Koepp qualified from the Free University Berlin in 1991.

In 1993 he moved to London to pursue further training in neurology with particular focus on “Neuroimaging in Epilepsy” at the Institute of Neurology, and completed his PhD in “Functional Imaging of the Epilepsies”.

He completed his specialist neurology training in 1999 and was appointed NSE-senior lecturer in epilepsy at the Institute of Neurology, University College London, and consultant neurologist at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery.

In 2008, he was promoted to professor of neurology in the same institutions. He oversees the medical care of patients with refractory epilepsy and additional learning and motor disabilities at the Chalfont Centre of the Epilepsy Society. His particular clinical interests are generalised epilepsies, epilepsy and co-morbidities (depression), and non-epileptic attack disorders.
