Professional background

Ayman Qureshi is a consultant in diagnostic and interventional neuroradiology at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery.

 Dr Qureshi studied medicine at the University of Nairobi, College of Health Sciences, graduating in 2007. He went on to complete postgraduate masters training in diagnostic imaging and radiology at the Aga Khan University Hospital in Nairobi, graduating in 2013 following successful completion of his thesis on skeletal metastases in prostate cancer and its relationship with PSA in the local population. During his postgraduate training, he completed the fellowship of Royal College of Radiologists examinations and was admitted to the college in 2014.

Following this, Dr. Qureshi completed over three years of fellowship training in diagnostic and interventional neuroradiology on the pan-London neuroradiology training scheme, accumulating experience from Queen Square, Kings College Hospital, and St. Georges University Hospital, as well as paediatric experience at Great Ormond Street Hospital. He subsequently spent a year of fellowship training in interventional neuroradiology at Toronto Western Hospital. During his time in Toronto, he gained further experience in paediatric neurointervention at Sick Kids Hospital.

 In addition to reporting of diagnostic neuroimaging, he performs endovascular treatment and management of neurovascular diseases of the brain and spine, including arterio-venous shunting lesions, aneurysms and stroke, and percutaneous image-guided spinal procedures.
